Our day of touring The Mall began with a stop at the Supreme Court building, then on to the Capital with a great tour by Michael and his friend Caroline.
Maya was excited to start our trip off by hanging out in the cockpit with our pilot! She did great on the plane-quite the jetsetter!
Our first stop of the trip was Mt. Vernon-George Washington's homestead. Definitely a beautiful place, sitting high up on the banks of the Potomac River.
We happened up on a Civil War reenactment in the park yesterday- cannons and a twenty-one gun salute and all! Luckily the loud cannons didn't phase Maya or Ziggy one bit!
We went to the SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival today- unfortunately the rain washed away most of the art(it's drawn with chalk on the sidewalks), but we were able to see some! Maya really enjoyed seeing all the people-the rain didn't bother her one bit!
Maya has now learned to pull herself up on anything she can crawl to! She has really grown up before our eyes, we can't wait to see what she'll do next!
Maya's first beach trip was a lot of fun! Although it was too cold to get in the water we had fun playing in the sand! Maya was fascinated by the sand- scratching it like a turtle and she managed to get a little taste or two!!!
Abuela came to visit and brought along Uncle Mike and cousin Michael from Puerto Rico to meet all the new babies! We had a fun time visiting with everyone!
Maya and Ava had a great time playing with each other this week at Tita and Poppy's house! Ava is such a great big cousin- she's already trying to show Maya the ropes!!
